Factor 44 Radio Centraal birthday bash 01.11.2003

Radio Centraal (Antwerp local radio) has been around for 23 years and they were celebrating it with a couple of short performances. Mauro and Miguel did a fifteen-minute noise set under the name 'The Parallels'. Mauro was playing guitar (not his usual Fender Thinline, for the techies amongst us) through a echo unit and various other pedal switches, while Miguel operated the sampler/drum-machine. He also strummed a classical guitar. The set ended with Miguel 'playing the wooden box with a cymbal' (hey, next time _you_ figure out what he was doing, okay?)
Two other short sets followed, one quite agressive one by a chap whose name could not be decyphered by us mortals. He improvised on two guitars and I don't think there were more than 4 strings left in the end. And that's on two guitars. The other set was by Sickboy, a rather amusing fellow, dressed as an Insane Clown ©. He launched some rather killing grooves out of his laptop, sort of being a cross between Thunderdome and all the other music you ever heard. Seven zillion samples layered on top of each other, with 33 rythm-changes... in three seconds. Tasty.
