| Basically
the band setup was : Mauro on voice effects Eavesdropper on a laptop Timo on big drum thing/trumpet/clarinet/cymbals/fork (yes, the ones we use to eat) Mauro made screeching noises on a voice-distorter and produced noise by moving his mic into various positions. It sounded somewhere between a whale on speed, Charles Manson out on a 'job' and the sound a car makes when it crashes into a rather large and unfriendly metal pole. It felt very David Lynchian and scary indeed. Eavesdropper played samples, of course and Timo, erm, I'm still not quite sure what he did. He 'played' what I think was a clarinet and a trumpet and scratched the cymbals with a fork. There was also another mysterious device at his feet. Don't go thinking that you'd _recognize_ the clarinet/trumpet, because you wouldn't. It was all pretty heavily 'buried in the noise' It was an interesting gig for sure, and it would have made a perfect soundtrack for 'Lost Highway', or (fill in another horror 'classic'). |
