The band

Mauro Pawlowski - vocals, guitar

When he was 19, Mauro used to work in the Ford car-factory. His uncle got him into a band and in the weekends he played guitar and did backing vocals on parties of all kinds. Allegedly they played anything, from 'Guns n' Roses' to 'Zangeres Zonder Naam'. He started writing his own lyrics when he was 21.

And then came Evil Superstars. They started out playing Zappa-covers, but soon after they began to play their own music, composed mainly by Mauro. On stage, he was known to boldly put mics where no mics had gone before, screaming his lungs out and at the same time hammering out a heavy guitar-riff. After the release of their cd 'Boogie children-r-us', rumours popped up that the band was on the brink of splitting up. And sadly this turned out to be true. Mauro decided to dismantle the band, because of a number of reasons, he declared later. Record sales had always been poor for Evil Superstars, probably due to the band being a bit too difficult-sounding for most people. Also, Mauro found that the other members of the band deserved to be able to record their own music and not just Mauro's (Tim Vanhamel with his band Millionaire for example).

At the moment, Mauro is working on a semi-solo-career
. He can be seen in a number of projects, ranging from theatre-productions to free-jazz noise with the band Monguito.
